I don't like the airport. It is the longest walk ever to baggage claim, then you still have to wait forever for your luggage, then you have to take a 10 min. bus ride to get a rental car, and finally when I got to the car rental area I had to wait in line for 1 hour to get the car!! Traffic in Vegas is terrible because of the I-15 work that is being done. By the time a got out of Vegas, it had been two hours since I landed. UGH!!
Luckily, I made it to Cedar in time to go see Brian's play. He was in a musical called "The Musical of Musical - The Musical". It basically pokes fun at all the 20th Century musicals. It starts with Rodgers & Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber & finally Kander & Ebb. It was hysterical!! My son has become quite the comedian. Where did that come from? I hope to someday get pictures so that I can post them because a picture speaks a thousand words (right Bri?). Late night dinner and off to bed.
Friday I attempted to go to the Tuachan to see the closing night of Big River. I drove all the way down to St. George only to find out it was sold out. Bummer. It is a beautiful facility and I can't wait to go back.
Saturday was shopping day. Mom refills the cupboard and frig. and buys other things that seem necessary. We also bought a bike so that he could save money on gas. That night was closing night of the play, so off I went to see it again.
Sunday was exploring day. We headed up the mountain to check out Cedar Breaks and the lava flows.
Monday we headed back to Vegas for a small town break for Brian. Again, I HATE VEGAS but Brian wanted to get away for a day. We first headed to the big Coke bottle to try to get 1/2 price tickets to go see the Star Trek Experience (it was highly recommended by Brian's friend, Matt) only to be told that the show had been over for two months. So to make myself feel better we went into the M&M Factory and bought some yummy dark chocolate M&M's. We decided to head to the Lexor to pick up our tickets for Chris Angel - Believe show that we had decided would be fun to go see. Even though I had previously bought the tickets on-line we still had to wait in a long line to pick them up, then got lost in the hotel trying to find our way back to the car. We thought about going to the Shark exhibit at Mandalay Bay, but when we finally found it, it was pretty expensive, so we passed. When we finally found the car we headed to the Wynn Hotel to have the buffet (told that it was the best in Vegas). All the driving and parking and trying to find things inside these gigantic hotels is exhausting and not very fun. The buffet was good, but I don't think I could ever eat enough to warrant the cost. By now it was time to head back to the Lexor for the show. I was excited to see Chris Angel. His street show looks so amazing. Brian was excited because as ususal Mom always gets great seats. It was an amazing theatre and was so fun having Brian explain the lighting and effects that we could see before the show. Finally the show began!!!! IT WAS HORRIBLE!!!!!!! Brian and I got to a point where we were laughing because the illusions were so obvious. You could see everything. Wow he disapears in a hole in the stage. Wow he levitates with a cord attached to him and the ceiling. Wow he cuts himself in half and it so obvious that the lower half doesn't match the upper half. IT WAS BAD!! The only magic was what any two bit magaician can do. What a disapointment. By the time we left there I just wanted to go to our hotel and be done with the day. Brian would not let me go until we had gone to the Bellagio Hotel. So dragging me along we headed to one last Hotel before bedtime. I am so glad he made me go!! This made the whole stinking day so worth it. The gardens in the Bellagio were amazing. They were all decked out for fall. And then the best part of the day!! The water show in front of the Hotel. I could have stood there for hours watching the water show. I kept saying," just one more and I'm so glad we stayed for that one, just one more", etc. It was so cool. Every 15 min. a new show starts. We watched 6 shows, all very different and so amazing. I finally found something in Vegas to LOVE!!
We finally headed to our hotel and crashed. Up early, dropped Brian at the St. George Express at the airport, caught an earlier flight and headed home. It was great to get home. I just wish I could have brought Brian with me.

i hate vegas too, except the bellagio fountains. glad you got to see them.
so is this the first time you discovered the bellagio fountains? THEY are fabulous! And I agree with you for the rest too.
Oh and tuacahn is so great. I saw a play called Utah there many many years ago. Loved the setting! Gorgeous!
Scott and I have stayed at the Bellagio overlooking the fountains. It was awesome. We got a great deal because my high rollin uncle hooked us up. When we checked out, they wondered why we hadn't gambled? I guess I spent too much time looking out the window at the fountains. :)
