We arrived at the Canadian border early afternoon excited for our new adventure. For some reason (my scary looks) the lady at the Canadian border did not like me. She was real nasty and kind of yelled at me. "Where do you live NOW?", "Where are you going and how long are going to STAY?, "Where did you come FROM? Like yelling at me. Do I look like a terrorist? Well, she finally let us in and we went exploring. First stop was for my crazy butterfly loving husband. They have a new Butterfly Conservatory that is pretty spectacular. It was a little hard to fully enjoy because of the crowds, but still fun. I have to admit that I still prefer the one at the University of Florida.
This last picture reminded me of Bro. Bob. Butterflies kept landing on this mans head the whole time he was in there. Cracked me up.
After butterfly gawking we headed down the street to the "White Water Walk". You get to walk on this boardwalk along the river with Class 6 rapids. Along the way there are also posted stories about people who have survived or not survived the falls. My favorites stories were : the 63 year old woman school teacher that did survive and the woman who took her dog over the falls (dog lives, woman dies).
By this point we were pretty tired and hungry so we headed to our hotel. This was my splurge hotel for the whole trip. We stayed on the 42nd floor of the Embassy Suites - Fallsview. Our window looked out onto the falls. Huge room, Huge Whirlpool Spa, Comfortable Beds, etc. Here our view:
I know the one with the light on in the background is not the best photo, but it gives you a view of our room and the falls!!
In the morning we had time for one more adventure before with had to head back to Syracuse to catch our flight to Green Bay, WI. Hands down we did the "Maid of the Mist" boat ride. It was so cool. I want to go back and do it again!!
Here is Dennis in his cute blue poncho:
And finally SUPER CLOSE to the falls. I couldn't see a thing. I just pointed my camera and clicked.
Off to Green Bay and the cabin.
